David is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Data Science at the University of West Florida. David previously earned his Master of Science in Finance from Florida State University before working as a financial analyst and trading assistant on an options desk at a small hedge fund.
David joined the Jalaian Research Group in December 2024 under the supervision of Dr. Jalaian and Dr. Cohen. His research interests primarily focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently he is researching AI knowledge distillation with the intent to decrease the power consumption of models while maintaining the performance.
When not engaged in research and studies, David enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing (when he can get away to the mountains). He is also an avid singer and musician. David also has a goal to learn a new language and is currently studying Korean during any remaining free time.
